Membership in the consortium is open to all operators of installations that use SPM hoses. Membership commitments from three companies are required for the kick-off of the technical development effort. Should the consortium fail to attract the minimum of three companies, the effort will be dissolved and all promissory agreements terminated.
Participation in the consortium will require participants to provide access to all hose operational, failure, and installation design data and records. Confidentiality of data is a concern in joint industry consortia. The specifics of all data supplied by consortium participants will be kept strictly confidential and not released to other consortia members, outside organizations, or manufacturers without consent. The data will be analyzed and used for trending, physics of failure model development and prediction validation. Only the aggregated results for particular hose designs will be reflected in the final code.
Consortium members will have exclusive access to the HoseLifeTM code and will receive training on its use. Members will also have priority access to the hose testing, data acquisition, installation, failure analysis and assessment services provided by ETA International. The HoseLifeTM source code will remain the exclusive property of ETA International.
